Comments:

After 14 years, the old Norwegian record was finally turned.

The contest was a pain as always, but the few openings that
sometimes happen, makes it worth while. This time 10 meters came
through on Sunday afternoon with an almost 2 hour continuous
opening which produced most of my 10 meter QSOs.
Also had a few shorter good runs on low bands the first night.

Thanks for all the QSOs. 73 Bjorn LB1GB/LN8W

Comments:

The contest started very slow due to effects from a coronal hole on the sun
80 and 160 was very disappointing and only 1 qso were made on 160 (VY2ZM)
On sunday the propagation improved and I had some nice runs on 10 and 15
40 also produced some good rates during the weekend
20 was ok but the good openings we usually have into west coast in the
afternoon never happened

73 and see you in the next one

Comments:

I had hoped to try SO2R for the first time, but had too little time before the
contest to get everything working. This was my first time operating from LN8W,
so everything was new to me. So the start was a little late, I had to throw in
a spare rig to get started, and run manual antenna switching. I don't think the
result suffers too much, I just felt uncomfortable the first 10 hours.

I spent an hour during the slow periode mid-night, and got most of the
equipment up, but still only 1R.

The conditions were fair, but missed 10m. There was a periode with short skip
to Europe, but also heavy QRM all over the band, making any operation
impossible.

It was fun to follow the battle on livescore, this gives an extra dimension to
the event.

Always nice to run SAC from Scandinavia. Even with low power there is sometimes
a feeling of being attractive..

Thanks to The Whisky Team for using the station.

Comments:

This was so much fun and my best RTTY contest ever!

Last time i worked this one was in 2011 with the call LM9L40Y
I remember the propagation was very good with the solar flux reaching 190
My claimed score in 2011 was 4023244 and I had not much hope of beating that
score this year but I was so wrong :-)

I only had a short nap of 45 minutes after 26 hours and I was almost 47 hours
in the chair. After my litle nap I had some problems to recover. I got back to
the chair and started with some S&P. I could hear stations and also see
them printed on my screen, but I just didn't know what to do with it!
My memory was all gone and I couldn't work anyone!?
I went outside and walked for about 5 minutes before I returned to the chair.
After a short while my brain slowly started to work again and I was finally
able to make contacts again :-)

The solar flux this year was just a litle above 100, but a very quiet magnetic
field for the whole weekend did help a lot to boost my score.
10 meter was a big surprise with openings both days to Japan and NA.
I did not work any west coast stations on 10, but managed to get 39
states/provinces which is not bad considerng the low flux.

Thank you for all the qso's which will be uploaded to LOTW

This mode is so awesome!!

Comments:

Ended up doing SB15HP when sudden rotator problems on the 20/40 tower occured.
Just shy of the record as 15M wasn't in very good shape on sunday. Was ahead
QSO-wise on Saturday, but needed mults, then sunday happened. Thanks for all
the QSO's! It was fun working you all.

And I used my own call for a change. It hasn't been in a "real"
contest for decades :-)
